About

London Legacy Garden

London Legacy Garden is a living memorial to Welfare Reform activist, Pauline London. We honor her legacy by growing organic produce, and providing a safer space for children.

London Legacy Garden provides seed starting, growing, and harvesting classes to everyone on Upland street.

In the Beginning

We invited our Philly Goat Project to come and help with weed control in 2020. Four beautiful friendly goats were leased to us for a week where they consumed weeds, poison Ivy, and mornign glory vines to help us prepare the land.

Hardscape

We hired TDG Mason to build out steps and a new retaining wall. This entry space will serve as our pollinator space with new plants donated by Xerces.

The Skoolie

The skoolie was purchased in 2020 and will serve as an office space for the garden. The bus will run on solar power with a compost toilet, and a small woodburning stove for those cold winters

The Garden Comes to life

To date, we have laid ten tons of gravel, built ten garden beds, planted eight trees, and will create a berry patch and small stage for outdoor events.
